I’ve read this article on a free magazine of Daily Inquirer entitled, “Well Disposed” by Michael Tan. The article tackles about cremation and other ways of burying a dead body in a “greener” way. Here are the infos: Cremation is a process wherein a corpse is being burned into ashes and into bone fragments. But actually, on the article it was said that cremating isn’t all that good. On the many other parts of the world, cremating is still done with wood meaning cutting of trees and lots of it. The Catholic Church has lifted its ban on cremation. On this view, the way of cremating or literally the burning of the corpse is opposing the belief in resurrection where the body will rise from the dead in the judgment day. Their basis for prohibiting it is not upon the cremating itself but to the motive: rejection of the doctrine of the resurrection, or disrespect for the body. But for me, despite of all these cremation I think is much better than the common way done by the people nowadays where the corpse is being put in a casket for the wake and then be buried in the cemetery. This commonly practiced way is done by the people unaware of what it brings to the environment. Just compare the space taken up by a casket than a jar of cremated corpse. Natural Burial advocates advice that if there’ll be caskets to be used, it must just be a plain wooden box. Using expensive caskets made of metals and bronze is eco-unfriendly because it’s non biodegradable. Also, the embalming fluids used to the corpse interfere with the natural decomposers which are necessary to break down the dead body in a natural way, such example are the beetles. Countries like the US, Canada and United Kingdom strongly support this natural burial movement. There were “green cemeteries” called where tombstones are not allowed at all. The relatives can use markers such as a tree or a plant where the dead is buried or by using GPS (global positioning system). In this modern times where technology is being applied, promession is another option. In this, the corpse is being freezed-dry. Literally, being turned into ice. Then, the freezed corpse will be shattered into small pieces using an ultrasound wave. The family of the dead can scatter the little pieces and remains on the wind or into the garden. Oh, whatever that way it was. For me, it’s not about the “way” of burial. I’d rather choose to be buried in a natural way like the ones being put in a plain, wooden box. Even a person is already dead, the living relatives of it must have a respect on the body. (not being crushes, iced or being burned) At least, at the very last day of them in this earth, they can’t contribute to the destruction of the environment. fly above!

end of the quarter

![]() ![]() the end of the quarter finally came and it's time for the distribution of cards.I've been thinking of my grades since but i'm not sure about them. Throughout this quarter, i'm thinking that most of my final grades in some various subjects will be decreased. I'm thankful of some subjects like English and Chemistry, because if our subject teacher didn't offer us for some insentives and if i would fail to comply with that, i'm ignoring a big chance. :< fly above!
